The Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies invites applications for the Marie S Curie FRIAS COFUND individual fellowships. These support junior and senior researchers in any discipline to conduct research at the University of Freiburg. The institute for advanced studies unites research in the humanities, social sciences, natural and life sciences, engineering and medicine.
Funding & Duration
Up to 25 fellowships are available, each worth a monthly allowance of up to €450 (approx. AUD $700) in theoretical disciplines and €1,050 (approx. AUD $1650) in experimental disciplines. Junior fellows receive €4,600 (approx. AUD $7,300) per month and senior fellows receive €6,700 (approx. AUD $10,600).
Additional funding is available for contracts as guest lectures and family allowance. A mentoring programme is available for junior fellows, as well as office space and assistance with accommodation. A senior fellowship lasts for three to 10 months and a junior fellowship lasts 12 months.
Applicants for junior fellowships must have a PhD and one to six years of postdoctoral experience.
Applicants for senior fellowships must have a minimum of six years postdoctoral experience, or a tenured professorship or equivalent position.
There are no restrictions on researcher’s nationality. Applicants may not have had their main residence in Germany for more than one year out of the last three years prior to the application deadline.
