The following information session addresses recent changes to the NHMRC’s grant program:
Speaker: Dr Tony Willis (Executive Director, Research Programs, NHMRC)
Day: Wednesday 25th July 2018
Time: 1pm -2pm
Venue: AHMS, Ground Floor Lecture Theatre, Rm G030, University of Adelaide, North Terrace Campus
Why is the NHMRC Grant Program Being Changed?
Changes are being made to the grant program to:
- encourage research that is more creative and innovative
- provide opportunities for Australia’s best health and medical researchers at all career stages, and
- minimise the burden on researchers in preparing and reviewing grant applications, allowing them to spend more time on research.
These changes are the result of a comprehensive review of the structure of NHMRC’s existing grant program by an Expert Advisory Group (EAG), which considered how NHMRC could better structure the program to improve the value of the public investment in health and medical research.
Further information on the Structural Review and on the EAG is available on the NHMRC website.
