The American Association for Cancer Research invites letters of intent for its NextGen grants for transformative cancer research. These support paradigm-shifting cancer research by young investigators who may not be funded through conventional channels.
Projects should have the potential to lead to groundbreaking discoveries in cancer research and transform our understanding of the tumourigenesis process or our ability to treat, detect or prevent cancer.
Research may be in any areas of basic, translational, or clinical science.
Funding & Duration
Three grants, worth USD $450,000 each (approx. AUD $633,000) for three years, are available.
Applicants must have held a doctoral degree and a tenure-eligible position at the rank of assistant professor for no more than three years at an academic, medical or research institution anywhere in the world.
Applicant must also be members of the American Association for Cancer Research.

- 28 September 2018 – Letter of Intent (LOI) submitted to Sponsor
- 11 January 2019 – full applications submitted for internal review.
