This scheme supports revolutionary research ideas for topics not being addressed by ongoing Information Innovation Office programmes or other published solicitations.
I2O supports basic and applied research in three areas:
- symbiosis;
- analytics;
- cyber.
I2O may also consider submissions outside these areas if the proposal involves the development of novel software-based capabilities that promise to provide a decisive information advantage for the US and its allies.
Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, technology, devices, or systems.
Funding
Multiple awards are anticipated. The level of funding for individual awards is contingent on the quality of proposals received and the availability of funds.
Eligibility
Research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of the art is specifically excluded.
Non-US organisations and individuals may participate to the extent that such participants comply with any necessary regulations.
