US Department of Energy: Big Data Analysis of Synchrophasor Data

This scheme supports the use of big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning on phasor measurement units to identify and improve existing knowledge and to discover new insights and tools for better grid operation and management to enhance the reliability and resiliency of the national grid.

Funding & Duration

Grants are each worth between USD $300,000 and USD $1M (approx AUD $418,000 and $1.39M) for 18 months.


US and foreign entities may apply independently or form a consortium. If non-US entities wish to apply as prime recipients and do not designate a US subsidiary or affiliate, they must explicitly request a waiver of this requirement in the application
