This scheme aims to strengthen collaborations between industry and research through the direct involvement of the milling sector in research projects, and to increase research skills and capability in sugar mills. The initiative is specifically aligned with key focus areas 5 – milling efficiency and technology, and KFA 6 – product diversification and value addition.
Funding & Duration
The budget is $250,000 per year. Funding is worth up to $75,000 per project for one year. Projects should be completed within a one-year period. The attractiveness of an application is enhanced by financial co-investment. Projects may start on or after 14 May 2019.
Milling organisations, equipment manufacturers or suppliers, consultants, research organisations and other organisations may apply. At least one of the project participants must be from a milling organisation.
