This scheme supports researchers who want to help affected countries and international decision makers to better prevent and control the spread of cholera. Projects must analyse aspects of past or ongoing interventions to improve their implementation in future, for example the use of oral cholera vaccines or water sanitation and hygiene strategies, or develop tools, metrics, and other resources to support decisions about controlling cholera.
Funding & Duration
Grants are worth up to £350,000 (approx. AUD $646,000) each for a number of small awards, or between £350,000 and £2M (approx. AUD $646,000 and $3.7M) for one or two large awards. Awards are expected to last for up to two years.
Applicants may be based at an academic research organisation, not-for-profit or government body, or private sector organisation from anywhere in the world. Individuals or teams based in the same or different organisations may apply. Applications are encouraged from lead applicants based in low- and middle-income countries, where the risks of cholera are highest.
