The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is inviting applications for the following Engagement Awards:

Dissemination Initiative

This award supports dissemination projects aimed at spreading awareness and increasing knowledge of new evidence from PCORI-funded research, targeted directly to patients, clinicians, and others who can use this information to inform healthcare decisions. Applicants should have established relationships with end users and should design tailored communication strategies to present relevant findings in ways that will command their attention and interest, and encourage the use of the information in policy, practice and individual choices.

  • Funding is worth up to USD $300,000 (approx. AUD $416,000) for a maximum of two years
  • Letter of Intent (LOI): 1 February 2019, 5.00pm (US Eastern Time)
  • Full proposals by invitation only

Capacity Building

This award supports projects that encourage active integration of patients, caregivers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders as integral members of the patient-centred outcomes and clinical effectiveness research enterprise.

  • Awards are worth up to USD $250,000 (approx. AUD $347,000) each for a maximum period of two years.
  • Letter of Intent (LOI): 1 February 2019, 5.00pm (US Eastern Time)
  • Full proposals by invitation only

Conference Papers

This award supports meetings and conferences that encourage active integration of patients, caregivers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders as integral members of the patient-centred outcomes research or clinical effectiveness research, and facilitate expansion of the two research fields. The award provides support for symposia, seminars, workshops and other organised and formal meetings where individuals assemble to exchange information or explore issues or areas of knowledge related to PCOR/Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER).

  • The award is worth up to USD $50,000 (approx. AUD $69,000) for one year.
  • Letter of Intent (LOI) not required.
  • Full proposals submitted for internal review: 25 January 2019, 5.00pm (Australian Central Daylight Savings Time)

Eligibility

Non-US applicants must ensure there is a demonstrable benefit to the US healthcare system and US efforts in the area of patient-centred research.
