American Association for Cancer Research: Fellowships

American Association for Cancer Research are currently inviting applications for the fellowships listed below.

All fellowships are valued at USD $120,000 (approx. AUD $166,000)


Breast Cancer Research Fellowships

These support podstdoctoral or clinical research fellows in conducting breast cancer research and establishing a career in the field. Research may be basic, translational, clinical or epidemiological in nature.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must have received their doctoral degree in a related field no more than five years before the application. They must hold a mentored research position with the title of postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow or equivalent at an academic, medical or research institution anywhere in the world and be members of the association.

Immuno-oncology Research Fellowships

These support postdoctoral or clinical research fellows to conduct immuno-oncology research and establish a successful career path in this field. Research may be basic, translational, clinical or epidemiological in nature.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a related field and not currently be a candidate for a further doctoral degree. At the start of the grant term they must hold a full-time, mentored research position with the title of postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow, or the equivalent, and they must have completed their most recent doctoral degree within the past five years. Applicants must work under the auspices of a mentor at an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world. AACR membership is required.

Myeloma Research Fellowship

This supports postdoctoral and clinical research fellows in conducting myeloma research and establish a career in the field. Research may be basic, translational, clinical or epidemiological in nature.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree in a relevant field no more than five years before the application. They must hold a mentored position at an academic, medical or research institution and be members of the society. They may not be based at US government facilities or for-profit entities.

John and Elizabeth Leonard Family Foundation Basic Cancer Research Fellowship

This supports postdoctoral and clinical research fellows in establishing a career in cancer research. Projects may be in any area of basic cancer research.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must have received their doctoral degree in a relevant field no more than three years before the application, must hold a mentored position at an academic, medical or research institution and be members of the association. They may not be based at US government facilities or for-profit entities.

AACR-AstraZeneca Immuno-oncology Research Fellowships

These support postdoctoral or clinical research fellows in conducting immuno-oncology research and in establishing a successful career path in this field. The proposed research may be basic, translational, clinical, or epidemiological in nature and must have direct applicability and relevance to the role of the immune system in the development and progression of early-stage or locally-advanced, non-metastatic, non-small cell lung cancer.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a related field and not currently be a candidate for a further doctoral degree. AACR membership is required.
