Following further feedback, the ARC has released a number of improvements to the Research Management System (RMS).
The User Guide: Research Outputs in RMS—Instructions for adding Research Outputs to your RMS Profile and FAQS: RMS Auto-population of Research Outputs have also been updated on the ARC website to assist researchers and Research Offices staff.
The release includes fixes to technical issues and the following functionality changes:
- Researchers will be able to permanently delete records from their RMS profile (including by bulk).
- Researchers will be able to select whether they want all records or only the ‘preferred source’ work for each ORCID record to populate into RMS.
- Researchers will have the ability to record pre-2001 ARC project ID against a research output.
- Within Manage Research Outputs screen, clicking the column headings (Category, Reference or Source) will alpha sort the outputs.
With any new Information and Communications Technology (ICT) functionality, there can be unforeseeable technical issues to address once released. Therefore, researchers and research support staff are encouraged to notify the ARC if they encounter any further issues with research output displays in RMS, to ensure they are resolved as quickly as possible.
Research output display errors are system issues that cannot be corrected by RMS users. Applicants can be assured that should any further issues arise that cannot be fixed prior to scheme application deadlines, any submitted applications that are affected will not be deemed to breach eligibility requirements due to research output display errors.
Assessors will also be advised to disregard identified research output display errors in their assessment of applications.
