Few public events are significant enough to justify their own acronym. In even fewer instances are those acronyms readily understood worldwide.
Clearly the global financial crisis, or GFC, is one such event. Much has been said and done about it already. But how accurate or effective has this been? Are fingers being fairly pointed? Can the cracks be repaired, or do we need a whole new system?

Christopher Findlay
Professor of Economics
Professor Christopher Findlay has been a Professor of Economics and Head of School at the University of Adelaide since November 2005. He has consulted to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, Ausaid and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).
Ralf Zurbrugg
Professor of Finance
Professor Ralf Zurbrugg joined the University of Adelaide Business School as a Professor of Finance He is a joint-editor of The International Journal of Managerial Finance and has consulted to numerous fund management and hedge fund companies around the world.
Andrew Stoler
Adjunct Professor of International Trade
Professor Andrew Stoler is adjunct Professor of International Trade at the University of Adelaide. He is also Executive Director of Adelaide’s Institute for International Trade, a former Deputy Directory-General of the Geneva-based World Trade Organisation and a past Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Europe and the Mediterranean.
Dogan Tirtiroglu
Chair of Banking
Professor Dogan Tirtiroglu joined the University of Adelaide Business School as a Professor of Finance and Chair of Banking in June 2008. He is a fellow of the Homer Hoyt Advanced Studies Institute in the U.S. and an affiliated researcher of the Financial Mathematics group of the Institute of Applied Mathematics at the Middle East Technical University, Turkey.
