Project Summary:
I am developing a fibre optic laser which will operate in the mid-infrared. Our novel approach should allow us to achieve significantly improved performance compared with other lasers operating at similar wavelengths. There are some exciting possible applications for our laser, once we finished its development, ranging from monitoring greenhouse gases to jamming heat-seeking missiles!
