The Robinson Institute had a booth at Science Alive National Science Week on 10, 11, 12th August (Adelaide Showground). There are 30,000 visitors to Science Alive every year – schoolchildren, parents, families, researchers, scientists, research institutes, universities, businesses, sponsors, Government officials.
What we were doing:
- A LIVE demonstration of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Prof Julia Pitcher’s group).
- Showing how cells are fertilised (Dr Melanie McDowall).
- Making embryo shapes out of balloons – showing how cells divide (Dr Hannah Brown).
- ‘Guess the Organ’ game – placenta image (Dr Amanda Highet).
- Through the microscope – slides of neutrophils and white blood cells (Dr Jon Schjenken) and stem cellsĀ (Kisha Sivanathan).
