The SA Centre for Economic Studies of the University of Adelaide is pleased to invite Corporate Members and their guests to the August 2018 Economic Briefing presentation and luncheon. The luncheon will be held at The Intercontinental Adelaide, North Terrace, next Wednesday, 8 August, from 12:00 noon.

The function includes a presentation on the situation and outlook for the South Australian economy, presented by Steve Whetton, Acting Executive Director, SA Centre for Economic Studies.

Our guest speaker is Dr John Hewson AM, former Leader of the Liberal Party and Leader of the Opposition. Dr John Hewson is an economic and financial expert with experience in academia, business, government, media and the financial system. He has worked as an economist for the Australian Treasury, the Reserve Bank, the International Monetary Fund and as an advisor to two successive Federal Treasurers and the Prime Minister. In February 2014, Dr Hewson joined the Australian National University as Professor and Chair of the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute. The title of his presentation is: South Australia in a Challenging Global Economy.
