Recently it was announced that the RCC Fringe 2019 would be located at the University of Adelaide’s North Terrace campus, providing an opportunity to place the University at the heart of a vibrant, exciting community arts event and delivering a range of benefits for students.

Students will benefit from having RCC Fringe on campus, through discount tickets, internships and employment opportunities.

The Adelaide University Union has raised some issues with the University regarding the potential impact on O-Week activities of this collaboration. We have committed to timely student consultation, including with the AUU, to ensure developments of this nature are more fully understood, and to avoid similar concerns in the future.

The Acting Chief Operating Officer has met with the AUU President to outline the arrangements, and provide the references in our Agreement that specifically aim to ensure O-Week and its related activities are not only a success in 2019 but will be enhanced by the RCC Fringe.

Discussions including the AUU, Sports Association and the University are underway, to explore the opportunities to work with the RCC, to utilise the RCC Fringe infrastructure and facilities for the benefit of O-Week activities and ensure a great O-Week experience.

Throughout these events in 2019, students will continue to have access to study areas across the campus, including Hub Central.
