New 10 year agreement with the University of Adelaide

University Senior College signs new 10 year agreement with the University of Adelaide

Today, members of University Senior College (USC) Council, Mr Brian Cunningham (Chair) and Dr Milton Haseloff (Secretary) signed a new 10 year agreement with the University of Adelaide’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Academic) Professor Pascale Quester.  The agreement confirms the commitment by USC and the University of Adelaide to provide students with a transition experience to bridge the gap between secondary and tertiary education.

Since 2002, USC and the University of Adelaide have cooperated under an agreement which enables students and specialist staff to work collaboratively on the University of Adelaide campus. This unique arrangement enables the College to create programs of study that encourage the development of skills and understanding to promote independent learning.   The signing of a new agreement also strengthens the mutually beneficial relationship USC has with the university through our Partner’s Pathway.

The benefits of the Agreement include:

  • A rigorous Partner’s Pathway program that provides a guaranteed course of study at The University of Adelaide for students who have demonstrated a commitment to learning and achieved successful results, and a Principal’s recommendation.
  • Access to the University of Adelaide’s venues and facilities.
  • An enriched learning experience through ready access to University of Adelaide staff.

Bob Holloway, USC Principal says:

“To be part of the University of Adelaide learning precinct continues to add enormous value to a learning pathway that is guided by an experienced group of highly motivated subject specialist teachers.  When you consider the positive characteristics of our student body, drawn to the school because of its university focus and uncompromising academic standards, it is not hard to understand why all staff enjoy working alongside such an eclectic mix of optimistic young people.  It is a privilege to be a part of University Senior College”

Additional remodelling of the Jordan Building in 2016 will provide USC students with world class facilities that are firmly based on the University of Adelaide campus.
