Australian Science Olympiads Results

Congratulations to University Senior College Year 11 students who participated in the 2018 Australian Science Olympiads. The Australian Science Olympiads are a national program for top performing secondary science students that culminate in the International Science Olympiads.  The program is a rewarding opportunity for year 10 and 11 students to extend themselves way beyond school science through challenging exams which then leads on to stimulating residential programs and international competitions.

The Australian Science Olympiad Exams are designed to select the top students to attend the Australian Science Olympiads Summer School and are the first step in being selected to represent Australia at the International Science Olympiads. Testing students’ knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving skills, the exams are held in the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Earth and environmental science and Physics.

23 USC students participated in the Olympiad exams and achieved the following successful results:


  • 7 students participated
  • 1 student achieved a High Distinction
  • 5 students achieved a Credit


  • 8 students participated
  • 2 students achieved a High Distinction
  • 1 student achieved a Distinction
  • 3 students achieved a Credit


  • 9 students participated
  • 3 students achieved a Distinction
  • 4 students achieved a Credit
