A Case Against Birthday Parties

Birthday parties are great as a kid. Your parents organise everything, and pay for everything. You get to do what you want because it’s your birthday. Plus you get toys.

Chronic Illness: Surviving Before Thriving

Growing up with chronic illnesses can really make you feel like you’ve fallen behind in terms of learning how to take care of yourself. As a teenager (and young adult), it feels like everyone else is really figuring out what works for them in terms of self-care. Everyone is learning how to thrive, and I […]

How To: Travel Solo

I’ve frequently travelled interstate and internationally by myself and have learned some important lessons along the way. Without anyone to rely on, you have to make a lot of decisions by yourself (often at quickly), so it’s important to be prepared in advance for the experience.

Preparing for Thesis Submission

It’s that time of year. Undergraduates have assignments piled high, and Honours students are thinking about their final deadlines. As a postgraduate, I am also thinking about a looming deadline: the first real on in three years. My thesis submission date. I have a maximum of six months before I submit (ideally slightly less, if […]

Simply Soundtracks: Game of Thrones

The Game of Thrones soundtrack is one of the best ones I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. Relive moments like the Red Wedding and Daenerys being lifted up by slaves of Qarth and it’s absolutely wonderful! Let’s dive into some of the greatest Game of Thrones music.
