‘Future Wars: Legally acceptable development and implementation of AI and Emerging Technologies’ Seminar held at Adelaide Law School

On Tuesday 30th April, Brigadier General Susan Escallier (U.S. Army JAG Corps), gave a thought-provoking presentation titled ‘Future Wars: Legally acceptable development and implementation of AI and Emerging Technologies’. The engagement seminar provided a platform for discussion surrounding Future War and what shapes it-challenges of military operations in the digital era were canvassed. BG Escallier talked about the establishment of┬áthe U.S. Army ‘Futures Command’ and the role this new Command will play today and in the future. Further,┬álegal considerations associated with the development, procurement and implementation of AI and emerging technologies were raised.

Brigadier General Escallier is the Assistant Judge Advocate General for Military Law and Operations for the United States Army.
