The Adelaide Law School alumni from the 5 years spanning 1980-1984 came together for a reunion dinner last Saturday night at the National Wine Centre. Alumni travelled from most other states to join their South Australian colleagues to mingle and share stories. On the big screen there was an impressive photo collection and even a video of a student bbq filmed around the Law School pond circa 1983. During the evening Deputy dean Dr Lorne Neudorf welcomed the alumni and gave them a brief update of the present day Law School.
One of our current senior lecturers, Paul Leadbeter, is an alumni of this group and he, along with 4 other alumni, provided light hearted entertainment presenting a three minute humorous oration on ‘Who is more important to the law’. This revelry [or was it a legal philippic] was moderated by Professor Christopher Symes and adjudicated by audience reaction. A former ALS staff member John Keeler AM was a popular guest.
Next year there will be alumni dinners for 1985-1989 and 1990-1994.
