On Tuesday, 7 October, the Public Law and Policy Research Unit (PLPRU) was delighted to host Dr Lawrence McNamara, Deputy Director of the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law in London. Dr McNamara is also a member of the advisory board of the PLPRU.
Dr McNamara presented a seminar on the expansion of secrecy in civil proceedings in the UK context. He drew on research he had done on the transparency and accountability of the use of secret proceedings in the UK courts under the Justice and Security Act.
