Joanna Howe

Dr Joanna Howe is a Lecturer of Law at the University of Adelaide and a consultant with Harmers Workplace Lawyers. She completed her Doctorate of Philosophy at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar in 2012.

She completed her Master of Studies in Legal Research in 2009 at the University of Oxford and graduated her Bachelor of Laws with first class honours from the University of Sydney. She has published in top ranked peer-reviewed journals including the Industrial Law Journal and the Australian Journal of Labour Law. She has also worked as a consultant for the International Labour Organisation in Geneva.

Her current research interests include:

  • The regulation of temporary migrant work (in particular the subclass 457 visa scheme)
  • Unfair dismissal law
  • Adoption law
