Ying Jiang

Dr Ying Jiang, BA in Journalism, MA in International Studies. Ying Jiang lived in China until leaving to study a Masters Degree in Birmingham University (UK). Ying Jiang was the first PhD candidate in the Media Discipline at the University of Adelaide. She is currently a Lecturer in the discipline.

Dr Jiang was selected as one of the 100 outstanding young Chinese leaders in the world by Hong Kong Dragon Foundation in 2008. Ying’s research activities are centred on blogs and participatory online media in China. With a background in International Studies, Ying is interested in the nationalism in China, with a focus on the relationships and tensions between the West and China’s Generation Y. Her new book Dissecting Chinese bloggers anger towards Western media is coming out later this year.
