Project Summary:
Two technology giants, Google and Apple, are about to engage in a ferocious battle over how you and I will choose to navigate this planet. The turf war is over generating 3D maps of our environment, and integrating this technology into our lives. I am a computer scientist working in a field called Multiple-View Geometry, where I look at improving the underlying technology that makes the generation of 3D maps possible. In a manner of speaking, I am an arms dealer in this battle.
