Features Resource: Safer Internet Day 2018

Tuesday the 6th of February is Safer Internet Day! Safer Internet Day is an annual, worldwide event to help encourage a better internet, celebrated across the world in 130 countries. The event is coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe.

This year’s theme is ‘Create, connect and share respect: A better internet starts with you’. As this is also a key topic from the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies, we explore key content and classroom activity ideas for communicating, collaborating and behaving online safely within our F-6 Foundations MOOC, within our ‘Information Systems’ unit. To inspire you for Safer Internet Day, we have curated some of the fantastic examples being generated for this topic by teachers in our CSER MOOC community. We’d love to hear what you’re doing in the classroom for Safer Internet Day – let us know with the hashtag #csermoocs! For more information and resources, visit the Australian Safer Internet Day website by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner.
