Erinn Fagan-Jeffries amongst SA’s 40 movers and shakers under 40

The Advertiser’s 40 movers and shakers under 40 list celebrates South Australia’s rising stars shaping our state’s future. Congratulations to Environment Institute member, Dr Erinn Fagan-Jeffries, an entomologist and a passionate science communicator, honoured on this year’s list.

Erinn is a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Adelaide and Honorary Researcher at the South Australian Museum.  She specialises in parasitoid wasps, which deposit their eggs on, or in, the bodies of other insects, and has named over 50 species of insects.  Her enthusiasm for entomology and science communication outreach has united in the development of the Insect Investigators.  Insect Investigators is an exciting citizen science project connecting regional and remote school students with researchers to document their local insect biodiversity and discover new insects in their area.

Erinn was also the recipient of the 2021 SA Science Awards for PhD Excellence and participated in the Environment Institute’s Early Career Leadership Development program.
