Six MGFAB students presented their research projects

Six Master of Global Food and Agricultural Business students, Mr Seth Offei, Ms Jieya Liu, Ms Tomoe Takahashi, Ms Yustina Wambrau, Ms Nan Chen and Mr Yukung Ding, presented their research projects on Monday 1 June 2015. Global Food Studies academic staff Mr Craig Johns, who is the course coordinator of the research project, organised this event. The event was attended by GFS academic staff and students. Associate Professor Wendy Umberger, the Director of GFS opened the event.

The purpose of this program was to not only showcase their research but also provide feedback and constructive criticism to help them improve their final report.The final report is due on 2nd July.

The six students are doing research on differing topics, from opportunities and challenges for Australian dairy export to China; opportunities for Australian lavender oil export to Japan; the impacts of trade liberalisation in Ghana poultry sector; local dairy sector in China; analysis of beef sectors in West Papua; and the competitiveness of rice sector in China. The projects not only provide the students opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge they have gained during their study but also contribute to the body of knowledge owned by GFS.
