Local Government Price Index (LGPI) data for the December 2010 quarter was recently published by the Centre.

The latest release takes into account local government broad expenditure patterns for 2009/10. The inclusion of latest expenditure data can lead to minor revisions for previously published estimates, but this has not been the case in this instance.

The LGPI rose by 0.5 per cent in the December quarter. In comparison, the Adelaide Consumer Price Index rose by 0.3 per cent.

The LGPI price index rose by 3.4 per cent through the year to the December quarter 2010, compared with a 2.5 per cent increase in the Adelaide Consumer Price Index over this period.
