Award winners Dr Erinn Fagen-Jeffries and Dr Alice Jones

Our early career researchers have been working hard to showcase their outstanding research.

They have achieved fantastic results and in doing so, have won some prestigious awards this year.

  • Congratulations to Dr Erinn Fagen-Jeffries for receiving the Harold Woolhouse prize. This prize is for the best PhD thesis produced in the Faculty ofSciences. Friends, family and colleagues of Harold Woolhouse donated to the fund in support of the prize. Professor Harold Woolhouse was a botanist and Director of Waite Agricultural Research Institute from 1990 to 1995.

Erinn was also awarded the Society of Australian Systematic Biologists Early Career Research Excellence Award at the conference in Brisbane last week, as shown in the blog image. She received the award from the SASB President Dr Michael Rix.

  • Congratulations to Dr Alice Jones for receiving the Partnership Development Award. It is the Biological Sciences recognition of efforts by researcher(s) in establishing mutually-beneficial research partnerships with organisations outside of academia for longer-term advancement of knowledge and societal impact.
